🌿 Make the Resolution to Start Your Own Home Garden

Start small, use what you have, and begin growing right where you are.

As we enter the new year and we start to make new years resolutions, I want to encourage you to start your own home garden.

Tomato plants in recycled bottle

Success starts with simple containers you already have at home.

I know what a lot of you will say: "I don't have the space," or "I don't have the time," or some will say "I don't have a green thumb—things I plant never grow."

It might not be you but the soil you are planting in; it can also be the seeds or planting materials you are using.

Tomato seedlings in blue capped bottle

Starting from a few seeds in a cut-off water bottle.

The Real Motivation: Apart from the joy you get from planting something and seeing it grow, look at the prices in the markets—especially after the hurricane.

You don't have to start big. You can start from a few seeds and a container that you can keep on your verandah or balcony if where you live is a problem.

Pepper seedlings

Peppers growing happily in a small space.

Let's make 2026 the year we grow our own. Start small, use what you have, and watch what happens!
